Welcome!

I’m Anna-Maria

Food blogger & content creator

Welcome to my kitchen! My name is Anna-Maria and I am so glad you could join me. It fills me with so much joy that I am now able to share my love of food and cooking with the world. As a Greek Australian, growing up food was involved with everything; from showing how we care, to every celebration and I tried to be involved with the process as much as I could.

Good food shouldn’t be hard to make. I’m passionate about creating flavourful recipes that make wholesome living easy & enjoyable.

Behind the blog

How it all started

Moving out of home and living on my own gave me an opportunity to hone in on my skills and to develop, try and improve upon wonderful recipes. After some of life’s ups and downs, trying to find my way, I decided that I would use the skills I know I’m confident in so I began exploring the idea of sharing my recipes online, while also sharing some of my favourites eateries and kitchen gadgets. I love good food, cooking and spending time in the kitchen and I am so happy to finally be able to share my passion with others! I hope you’re able to find something you love too.

FAQ

I’m not a fan of the taste of seafood, I’ve tried, but I just don’t like it. I think my life would much easier and enjoyable if I liked eating it. I’m fine with things like oyster sauce and fish sauce for Asian recipes and anchovies for things like the dressing of a caesar salad because I can’t taste any fishy taste when it’s mixed in with other things that mask enough of the taste. In saying that, I’m surrounded by people who love eating seafood, so you may see a few recipes here and there.

I know it seems annoying but I have a few reasons for leaving it out. Many of my recipes allow for variations, there can be differences between which brand of ingredient you choose to use; which all can alter the nutritional outcome of the food so I don’t want to give you inaccurate information. There are many food trackers out there that will be able to keep track of my recipes using whichever brand of products you like using.

I use an iPhone for filming and taking photos. If content creation is something you’re really interested in, you don’t need fancy equipment, most smartphones have great cameras and do a really good job; I learnt this lesson the hard way. YouTube has been really helpful in developing my understanding around using smartphones and lighting to create the best quality video I can. There are some inexpensive options available online for lighting your set and a tripod for stabilising your camera.

Not for very long. In saying that, I’ve been working on getting this website and my social media up and running for quite some time, while I had a job and some health issues. Being able to do this brings me much enjoyment while also giving me the flexibility I need to be able to manage my health in a better way.
