Broken Hearts Burger Club
An LA-inspired burger joint with a simple menu, done really well. Broken Hearts Burger Club is a Brisbane cult classic on the burger scene, featuring hand smashed burgers, fries and shakes. Don’t let their small menu throw you off, this place is perfect for no-frill-burgers, their classic and fancy smashie.

The Classic keeps it simple and delicious with an ultra-thin, crispy charred patty layered with American cheese, bread-and-butter pickles, and a dollop of house-made sauce on a buttered, lightly toasted potato bun. The Fancy takes it up a notch with iceberg lettuce and tomato slices. Customisation is minimal, but you can go Oklahoma style with onions smashed right into the patty. Hot chips are thin cut and the milkshake flavours include: chocolate, vanilla, lime, strawberry and a special shake.

My go-to order at Broken Hearts in their classic smashie. I make it a double as an Oklahoma, with hot chips, fry sauce and a chocolate shake. I’m also one of those people who sometimes likes dipping some of my salty hot chips in my chocolate shake, other times I’ll have some of their fry sauce. I’ve tried many smash burgers around Brisbane and I believe these to be one of the best. Locations include: Mango Hill, Morningside, West End, New Farm, Ashgrove, Springwood, Victoria Point, Yatala and Loganholme.
